Cocchi’s list of accolades continues to grow: the newborn Espressione Bianc Alta Langa DOCG 2018<\/strong>, a new and sophisticated pad dos\u00e9 cuv\u00e9e made from 100% Chardonnay, has recently been selected as Top Wine<\/strong> by the Slow Wine 2025<\/strong> guide.<\/p>\n

Pas Dos\u00e9 Alta Langa DOCG 2018<\/strong> was awarded the Gold Medal<\/strong> at Civilt\u00e0 del Bere’s Wow Competition<\/strong>, the Gold Seal<\/strong> at The Wine Hunter Award<\/strong> and 94 points<\/strong> in Luca Teboni<\/strong>‘s tastings (2017 vintage).<\/p>\n

Totocorde Alta Langa DOCG Brut 2018<\/strong> won the Vinibuoni d\u2019Italia 2025<\/strong> Crown<\/strong> and scored 90 points<\/strong> at the last edition of the Decanter<\/strong> ranking; the 2017 vintage had been awarded 92 points<\/strong> by Wine Enthusiast.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now, with the awarding of Three Glasses to its Alta Langa Extra Brut 2019 made from organic grapes, Cocchi consolidates its leading role in the landscape of Piedmont’s finest quality sparkling wines, the Alte Bollicine Piemontesi.<\/p>\n

A very young label that boasts a pioneering legacy<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The first vintage of Cocchi’s Alta Langa DOCG Extra Brut was previewed in Verona at the last Vinitaly. Within the space of just a few months, this wine has achieved great prominence.<\/p>\n

Since taking its first steps in the world of Alta Langa, at the beginning of the experimental project that led to the creation of the appellation in the 1990s, Cocchi has made innovation and quality its flag. The winery was among the first to believe in the potential of this appellation, with a visionary approach. Today, the result of these investments translates into cuv\u00e9es that fully express the unique characteristics of the Alta Langa terroir and continue to win worldwide recognition.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Alta Langa DOCG Extra Brut Biologico 2019 was a new gamble on an appellation that we believed in and invested in right from the start, and which we have wholeheartedly supported\u201d <\/em>– says Giulio Bava<\/strong>, the owner of Giulio Cocchi along with the rest of the family.\u00a0\u201cCocchi’s long history is studded with important distinctions within the appellation: Cocchi was one of the first producers to believe in the<\/em> Alte Bollicine Piemontesi, so much so that today, in our cellars, there are two whole decades in magnums for tasting, since \u201cAlta Langa\u201d was little more than a dream, a project and a brand, but not yet an appellation\u201d<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Cocchi and Alta Langa DOCG: a story of commitment and distinctions<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Cocchi stands out not only for the quality of its wines, but also for its constant pursuit of excellence. The recent success of the Alta Langa Extra Brut 2019 is merely the latest confirmation of a journey built on pioneering spirit and passion. Each new cuv\u00e9e represents another step forward in the close relationship between Cocchi and the Alta Langa appellation: Cocchi was the first winery to release an Alta Langa wine made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes (Bianc \u2018d Bianc), the first vintage being 2000, and also the first to release a ros\u00e9 wine (R\u00f6sa) in the same year. It was even the first to launch an Alta Langa Grappa, in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cCocchi continues to be proud of its absolute loyalty to the appellation, its perfect compliance with particularly strict production regulations, which allow the production of vintage wines only, as the expression of a single harvest that is indicated on the label; these regulations impose the ageing of this traditional method sparkling wine for at least 30 months, and Cocchi goes one step further, releasing cuv\u00e9es that rest an extra year on lees in addition to the 30 months required, as is the case today with this organic cuv\u00e9e, which has spent 46 months on lees<\/em>\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
