Vermouth di Torino Cocchi is the official vermouth at “Spiritual”

Vermouth di Torino Cocchi is the official vermouth at “Spiritual”, the Vinexpo 2015 concept-bar, organized in partnership with The Spirit’s Business magazine.

Since last year, the attention that Vinexpo’s International Wine & Spirits trade show has shown the dynamic world of spirits, in particular, Vermouth, has been huge, bridging the worlds of wine and spirits.
Vermouth di Torino Cocchi, born from an original recipe dated back to 1891 by the founder Giulio Cocchi, has experienced a strong surge in popularity and success in recent months confirming its quality and strengthening the active role that Cocchi has been playing the the worldwide Vermouth sector.

In 2014 it was the overall winner in the fortified wines category and in the sweet vermouth subcategory at the BBA ‘London Bartender’s Best Award’. At the start of 2015, the Drinks International World’s Best Bars Brands Report awarded Vermouth Cocchi, second place in the best solding the 50 best bars in the world’ category.
Andreas Larsson, world Best Sommelier in 2007, describes Storico Vermouth di Torino:
“Quite deep golden colour, with a hint of almost something brown towards amber. Intense nose, and this is not a normal wine, it’s rather a Vermouth style, it’s flavoured; but I think for that it has a good complexity. We have those herbs, licorice, dry wood, cedar, tobacco, in combination with quite sweet candied honeyed fruit. Palate has a quite high sweetness, but I think that’s well-tempered by that bitterness we have in here, and those bitter spices, bitter herbs giving a good lift, good grip. Quite long sweet finish with grapey candied fruit, but it finishes off in a dry style. It’s a flavoured wine and I wouldn’t call myself a specialist in judging this, but I think it’s a very nice traditional style in that Northern Italian Vermouth style. Very fun”.
