At trade fairs, bulky materials designed for just a few days of use quickly become waste. From this awareness comes the COCCHI Document Holder: an item that not only reduces waste but also carries a small story within it.

The PVC sheets from our Roma Bar Show stand — the backdrop to thousands of toasts, smiles and photographs — have been transformed, taking on a new shape and returning to everyday use.

Each document holder is handcrafted by inmates at the Santa Maria Maggiore Prison in Venice, within the artisan workshops of Malefatte, the brand of the social cooperative Rio Terà dei Pensieri, which supports concrete paths of professional reintegration. Their work reflects precision, care, and the ability to turn discarded material into something unique.

No two pieces are alike: colours, cuts and details vary depending on the PVC offcuts from which they originate. Each item is an authentic fragment of our exhibition stand, renewed with a new purpose.

This project reaffirms our commitment to giving materials a second life and supporting inclusion pathways — a simple gesture that brings together sustainability and social responsibility in a tangible way.
