Cocchi Barolo Chinato praline: thirty years of success
A refined expression of Piedmontese tradition combined with the mastery of Tuscan chocolatier Andrea Slitti, in which one of the region’s most prestigious aromatised wines blends with extra dark chocolate.
Each praline encapsulates a heart of soft Barolo Chinato, a wine with noble roots, born from the skilful processing of Barolo DOCG and enriched with cinchona calisaya bark, rhubarb and gentian root, and cardamom seed, the active ingredients of which are extracted via slow maceration at room temperature.
The result is delicious and elegant: balance and harmony in the aroma, an immediately pleasant taste and enjoyable aromatic persistence.
The union of dark chocolate and Barolo Chinato creates a perfect blend of intense flavours: the warm, spicy and complex notes of the wine play beautifully with the chocolate, delivering a unique and satisfying taste experience.
Perfect to be enjoyed alone or paired with a glass of Cocchi Barolo Chinato, these pralines were conceived in 1995 and represent a combination of elegance and craftsmanship, a perfect gift for those seeking originality and refinement.
The love story between Cocchi and chocolate is consolidated, rooted in time and fuelled by an authentic passion.
The origin of this union dates back to the 1990s, when Roberto Bava, together with Eugenio Guarducci and Gilberto Mora, established the Compagnia del Cioccolato in Perugia.
This association, made up of expert consumers and chocolate lovers, is dedicated to protecting the informed consumption of chocolate. Contrary to common belief regarding the difficulty in pairing wine and chocolate, the exceptional combination of Barolo Chinato Cocchi and chocolate has long been known: Roberto Bava amazed sommeliers with this challenging pairing in Perugia in the 1990s.
At the Salon du Chocolat in Milan in 2016, Barolo Chinato Cocchi was proclaimed “Ideal chocolate wine”, and that same perfect harmony is celebrated in the Cocchi Barolo Chinato praline.
