“Cocchi loves Chocolate”: events in Italy and abroad

Cocchi will be present at the event ‘I Cioccolati del Mediterraneo’ on 17 and 18 February 2024 in Maglie, at the Terra d’Otranto Archaeoindustrial Museum.

Roberto Bava will present Cocchi Vermouths on 17th February at 7.45 pm during the seminar “Vermouth meets chocolate” and on 18th February at 11 am for the seminar “Barolo Chinato paired with Slitti, Maglio and Venchi chocolates”.

In Hong Kong, Argo Four Season Hotel, on 26 February, he will lead the pairing of Cocchi Vermouths with Venchi chocolate, together with head barman Federico Balzarini.

In Manila, Shangri-La The Fort, on 28 February, Roberto Bava will lead the seminar in which Cocchi Vermouths will be paired with PIA chocolates.

The love story between Cocchi and chocolate is well-established, rooted in time and fuelled by a genuine passion. The origin of this union dates back to the 1990s, when Roberto Bava, together with Eugenio Guarducci and Gilberto Mora, founded the Compagnia del Cioccolato 1995 in Perugia. This association, made up of experienced consumers and chocolate enthusiasts, is dedicated to protecting the conscious consumption of chocolate by providing information and guidance to its members. In the same years, a bar with an unusual circular shape, OIOIO, was designed and marketed by Cocchi in favour of Father Giovanni Onore’s missions in Amazonia.

Contrary to common beliefs about the difficult combination of wine and chocolate, the exceptional pairing of Barolo Chinato Cocchi and chocolate has long been known: in Perugia, and again in the 1990s, Roberto Bava amazed sommeliers with this challenging pairing. In 2016, at the Salon du Chocolat in Milan, Barolo Chinato Cocchi was even proclaimed ‘Ideal Chocolate Wine’. This perfect harmony is also celebrated in the Barolo Chinato Cocchi praline, created by Tuscan chocolatier Andrea Slitti, a success that has persisted for more than 30 years, continuing to amaze and enthuse.

Guido Gobino contributed to the marriage of chocolate and Cocchi in 2016, creating the ganache to the historic Vermouth di Torino Cocchi. Over the years, delicious pairings between Cocchi products and chocolate have been proposed during themed events such as Cocchi Vermouth Dinners and seminars both in Italy and abroad. The recent collaboration between Cocchi and Gobino resulted in an elegant box celebrating the best of Piedmontese taste, combining Cocchi products in mignon format with delicious Gobino pralines.

In collaboration with Venchi, a limited edition box has been launched to taste different Venchi chocolates paired with Cocchi Vermouth.
